This book took me completely by surprise in the best way possible. The story follows Annie, a Physician Assistant living in California who has her world turned upside down by a horrible tragedy. To begin healing, she returns to a sleepy coastal town where she vacationed as a child. Here, she meets a loveable cast of characters and begins re-examining her priorities and what it means to find out who she truly is and what path she wants to take in life.
This book offered a sweet and charming romance as well as a beautiful sense of place in which the town became its own important character in the book. I also enjoyed this book because I felt emotionally attached to the characters. I found myself crying with them in tragedy and rooting for their success.
If you are looking for a book with big heart, romance, and a beautiful setting…this book is for you! I love Debbie Macomber’s books and Cottage by the Sea does not disappoint!
