Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book.

Synopsis: London based hotelier Xavier Darling has his eyes set on buying and refurbishing the historic Hotel Nantucket. At the helm is general manager Lizbet Keaton who is working hard with her staff to put the Hotel Nantucket on the map in the modern age. They are anxiously awaiting a visit and review from famous travel influencer Shelly Carpenter. With hard work and exceptional customer service, what could go wrong? Enter the ghost of Grace Hadley, a maid who died when the Hotel Nantucket caught fire in the 1920s. All Grace wants is to have her story heard. Can the staff at the hotel help bring Grace rest before the hotel is doomed forever?

Thoughts: Elin Hildebrand is an auto-read author for me. I gave this book 5 stars and I am naming it as one of my favorite reads of 2022. First of all, Elin Hildebrand writes her books with a beautiful sense of place. Nantucket and the Hotel come alive as characters in their own right in this book. Her writing has me so in love with Nantucket (bonus: a travel guide is included in this book) that I am now planning a visit there! The characters in this book are richly written and I found myself deeply invested in their humanity, trials, and development. The ghost story element of this book is an added bonus and enriched an already fantastic read. I cannot say enough good things about this book!

For Fans of: Books set in coastal New England, Nantucket, any Elin Hildebrand books, rooting for the underdog, historical ghost stories, historical buildings with a story.
