Book Review: All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover

BOOK REVIEW. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 Stars

Friends, before 2018 I was NOT a romance novel reader. I (wrongfully) assumed they were all cheesy and nausea inducing. As with many other genres, Bookstagram has helped me branch outside of my comfort zone and authors like Colleen Hoover, Christina Lauren, and Jasmine Guillory have made me a fan of the genre.

Thanks to the amazing Jenn @livereadandprosper on Instagram who gifted me a copy of this book, All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover was my first romance read of 2019.

All Your Perfects alternates between past and present day and tells the story of the marriage of Quinn and Graham. After a VERY unlikely meeting, whirlwind romance, and several happy years…Quinn and Graham find their marriage is now hanging by a thread. Can they get back to the marriage they once had? And can they name the heartbreak that has come between them? (Some spoilers below not related to the outcome of the book).

What I loved about this book is how real it is. It doesn’t sugar coat marriage or portray it through rose colored glasses. I also appreciated that the book addresses infertility and how infertility can show up in a marriage. So often infertility is shrouded in shame and silence, and I appreciated that this book shines a light on a struggle I don’t think we talk enough about. (Please note: infertility does play a central theme and the book and could be triggering).

This book is fast paced and a quick read. I loved the character development and found myself fully invested in and rooting for Quinn and Graham. I recommend!

For fans of: Non-cheesy romances, It Ends With Us, books that tackle real issues
