
Hi friends! June was a good reading month for me! I hope it was for you! I’m featuring here new-to-me books (not re-reads) that I finished in the month of June. I posted some favorite books I’m re-reading in my Pride stack (last post).

June Books Read and Ratings:
1. The Cactus by Sarah Haywood: 4 Stars (fans of Eleanor Oliphant will love this book!) If you love a complicated family story and a European setting, you will devour this book!

2. Apple Turnover Murder (Hannah Swenson Mystery #13) by Joanne Fluke: 4 Stars. I love these books! If you love cozy mysteries and baking, you have to check out this series.

3. Next Level Basic by Stassi Schroeder: 3 Stars. This was my guilty pleasure, house cleaning, audiobook listen. Stassi is hilarious, stays in her lane, and doesn’t take herself too seriously. I laughed out loud.

4. This is Home by Lisa Duffy: 4 Stars. Thank you to @netgalley for my e-galley of this book. This book is heartwarming, romantic, and uplifting! Fans of Dear John and The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks might love this one. Full review to come.

5. The Accidental Beauty Queen by Teri Wilson: 4 Stars. Child librarian turned beauty queen? Read to find out! This book is funny, heartfelt, explores family dynamics, and has a sweet dose of romance. Full review to come.

6. Dark Matter: 5 Stars! This was a #bookstagrammademedoit moment. I don’t normally read science fiction, but I LOVED this book! It was everything that everyone promised it would be. I can’t wait to read Recursion.

7. With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo: 5 Stars! This was my FAVORITE book I read this month!! It follows senior in high school and young mom Emoni as she pursues balancing motherhood, her dream of becoming a chef, and her hope of traveling to Spain with her culinary arts class. This book is full of heart and characters you want to root for. Full review to follow.
